Introducing the Peace Harp!

PeaceHarpI am so excited to introduce the new “Peace Harp!”

A beautiful, sweet sound, it is 12 strings and weighs about two pounds. These special little harps are custom-made with a dove and olive branch carved into the sound box. It is a perfect instrument if you want to add positive, loving vibrations into the collective energy field or share it with your favorite people in your life!

My 365-Day Commitment

365On July 25, 2020, I made a commitment to play my harp every day for 365 days for peace and global healing. I’m excited to share that I’m about one month away from having accomplished this … homestretch and without a doubt, I’m sure I will fulfill my commitment! It has been a beautiful endeavor.

Besides playing every day, I’ve also kept a daily journal of my experiences, insights and learnings. This will eventually be a book … stay tuned!

Peace Meditations

PeaceBesides launching United Nations of Harpists (previous post), I have been actively hosting and facilitating Peace Meditations for the past six months. These gatherings on Zoom began back in November 2020:

  • Election Day
  • Senate run-offs (January 5, 2021)
  • MLK Day on January 18, 2021 (when there were rumors of extensive violence across the country prior to Inauguration Day).

And now two times a month, a group that I’m part of who is studying the issue of race relations is meditating for diversity, equity and inclusion.

All of these meditative experiences are powerful! We meditate in silence and I play the harp intermittently to keep our vibration high and focused. We are meditating for the highest good for all in our country and the world. My vision is more harpists will be hosting and facilitating these peaceful gatherings around the world … what a positive way to contribute!

Peace to you …

United Nations of Harpists

Images - United Nations 1I’m so excited to announce that over the past winter, I launched a new organization called United Nations of Harpists. It is harpists from all over the world who are playing the harp for peace, unity, love and harmony. Currently, we have 30 harpists from 9 countries.

If you are a harpist and this mission “speaks to you,” please consider joining us! Click here for more information. We meet once a month – our next meeting is April 20 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. CST. (There are two options because of the numerous countries/time zones – you only need to attend one session.)

Peace to you …

Peace and Justice

PeaceI live in the Twin Cities, about 10 miles from where the George Floyd murder happened in May 2020. The ensuing violence and looting was frightening and sad.

In mid-July 2020, a friend asked me if I was interested in joining a group called “In Solidarity” to study and learn more about race relations. I jumped at the chance! It has been quite a learning experience and so far, this list has been our discussion materials:

  • How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi
  • White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism by Robin DiAngelo and Michael Eric Dyson
  • Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates
  • Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson
  • 13th movie – documentary about the 13th Amendment
  • All In: The Fight for Democracy – documentary about Stacey Abrams
  • Seeing White podcast
  • Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer
  • My Grandmother’s Hands: Racialized Trauma and the Pathway to Mending Our Hearts and Bodies by Resmaa Menakem

While I have often said, “Peace and joy,” now I’m say, “Peace and justice!” As a culture and world, we have a long way to go, but I am hopeful as I’m watching nine white women transform, recognizing there are men and women all across the country doing this important work, as we heal this deeply embedded issue.

Meditation in the New Year

MeditationAre you ramping up your meditation practice since the New Year? Here’s one idea to bring in more love and light … and don’t forget to turn on your favorite harp music before you start:

  • Close your eyes. Take a deep, slow inhalation breath through your nose. And move your gaze or focus to your third eye (between your eyebrow and at the center of your forehead). Envision light streaming into you.
  • Exhale through your mouth and move your focus to your heart.
  • Repeat the first two bullet points very slowly with deep breaths.
  • Each time you go into your heart, expand the good feelings. Envision love, appreciation, peace, gratitude and joy.
  • This is Light and Love.
  • Continue to connect to yourself, the community around you, as well as the world at large.

You can do this meditation any time you need to connect with something that is bigger than yourself. Happy meditating!

Blessings of CoVid-19

BlessingI was recently on a Zoom call and someone asked the question, “What are the blessings you’ve received from the coronavirus?” Honestly, the question took me aback, because there’s been so much focus on the negative. Even though I don’t feel like I’ve personally lived in the negativity, I wasn’t prepared to list my blessings. After taking some time to reflect, here’s a few things I’m grateful for:

  • Playing my pedal harp to “send out” peace and calm energetically every day.
  • A deeper connection/relationship with my friends and support system.
  • Easing up on Mother Earth (reduced pollution, cleaner waters, less frenetic busy-ness, etc.)
  • Daily walks in nature and breathing in fresh air. (I’m also so glad the pandemic “hit” in mid-March vs. mid-January in Minnesota!)
  • Connecting daily with people I had lost touch with or hadn’t connected with for a long time.
  • Meditating daily to help fill “the field” with love and peace.
  • Cleaning. Cleaning. Cleaning. My house feels lighter and more organized, and I love this feeling!
  • Working with my harp therapy students. As we have connected each week, we spend the first few minutes of each lesson processing our CoVid experiences, as well as mutually supporting each other.
  • Working on a couple exciting, new creative projects!
  • Time to enhance and deepen my self-care practice.

I could go on … I’m amazed at how long the list already is! What’s on your list of CoVid blessings? As we “hold space” for the struggles and pain of CoVid, we can also be grateful. I invite you to reflect on your CoVid blessings (if you haven’t already done so)…

3D vs. 5D

healing5Have you heard the spiritual terms 3D and 5D? “D” stands for dimension and as a planet, we are upleveling our vibration from the third dimension (3D) to the fifth dimension (5D). So, let’s explain:

  • 3D is about separation which means us vs. them, right vs. wrong, good vs. bad “guys,” and also who is to blame, who can we invade/which countries can we take over, etc. You can probably see this is where we have been as a culture and world for a very long time!
  • 4D is the awareness we are more than just our physical body; we claim our soul. The spiritual component is “I create/co-create my reality.” This stage in the Ascension energy progression is taking actions such as saying mantras, affirmations, paying attention to our positive/negative language, etc. It is also about setting intentions and manifesting.
  • 5D is unity consciousness. In other words, we are all connected. The world is a mirror and we change the mirror by changing ourselves. 5D is also about deleting any limits on joy, peace, love, possibilities, etc. which ultimately increases our vibration. We can say, “Wouldn’t it be nice to feel/experience XXX?” and then, we watch it happen!!

Hopefully these explanations are helpful and you can see where you personally are at on the 3D/5D continuum. While this can be a challenging time, it is also quite exciting! We wish you expanded peace and blessings at this time on your journey…
