Musical Reflections wishes you a Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy ThanksgivingThe U.S. holiday of Thanksgiving is coming soon! It is one of our favorite holidays. How about you? It is less stressful (and frankly, less work) than Christmas/New Years. And more importantly, it is a time of gratitude, thankfulness and appreciation. We love to reflect what we are most grateful for from the previous year:

  • Our customers – that’s YOU!
  • CoVid gave us the opportunity to discern about what’s the “next generation” of our work/business. Stay tuned for exciting new launches coming soon!
  • We also love our “sister businesses” – the BioMat and Young Living essential oils. We love these products personally and enjoy sharing the benefits with those we serve. It’s a win-win!
  • We have loved working with our therapeutic harp lesson students. These students already know how to play the harp, but want to learn more about playing at the hospital and hospice bedside. What a joy and honor to work with them!
  • Every time someone signs up for our new on-line course called “Sounds of Healing for Wellness Professionals,” it brings us joy! We love sharing our content in this unique, cutting-edge format.

Since Musical Reflections’ inception on May 21, 1999, we have been passionate about offering various products and services to contribute to your healing journey. What an honor! We are so grateful … Happy Thanksgiving!

Blessings…

Blessings Digi 2_05Do you select a “Word of the Year?” I do! For 2019, my word is blessings … I feel so blessed! Blessings abound in so many areas of life and in so many ways …

  • Basic needs (food, clothing, shelter)
  • Social interactions (friends and wonderful support system)
  • Finances (abundance and prosperity)
  • Spirituality (powerful meditation practice connected to the Divine)
  • Physical (great health and cadre of holistic healthcare practitioners looking after my well-being)
  • Etc., etc., etc.

This is the beginning of a gratitude list … you may enjoy making your own, as it’s a fun exercise! As you write, you might also enjoy listening to a harp CD called “Blessings to You” for even greater inspiration! The other ritual that I started on January 1, 2019, is to remember one image right before I go to sleep each night that brought joy. What a lovely way to drift off to sleep.

So, here’s to your blessed life … happy 2019!

When Violence Strikes – Got Music? (Part I)

Stop ViolenceEvery time a violent act occurs, I’m shocked, saddened, questioning why, grief-stricken. I am no different than anyone else.

Now, we have social media tools, such as Facebook and Twitter, to process our emotions “out loud,” and reach out to comfort and soothe each other. After these brutal events, I scroll through my Facebook stream and I notice many posts of music. We turn to music during these painful, challenging times.

Musicians have a powerful voice. As Arthur Schopenhauer says, “Music is the answer to the mystery of life … it expresses the deepest thoughts of life and being; a simple language which nonetheless cannot be translated.” And Hazbat Inayat Khan said, “There is nothing better than music as a means for upliftment of the soul.” Perhaps this is why we turn to music and the much-needed message from musicians’ during these times of inexplicable violence. It was Charles Munch who said, “Music is an art that expresses the inexpressible.”

Sing on … play on … shine on musicians … thanking each of you with deep gratitude.

We will share more about this journey as the year progresses…

And over the next few days, we will be setting our yearly intentions. Have you created your list yet?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving - 2I love the Thanksgiving holiday, do you? It is a much simpler holiday than Christmas …

  • Thanksgiving is not about gift-giving, but gratitude for our bountiful gifts!
  • There’s not “pressure” of extra Christmas baking and goody-making, yet a delicious meal with family gathered.
  • No massive house transformations with Christmas decorations, but tasteful autumn décor.

Here’s wishing you and your family a beautiful holiday filled with gratitude…Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

This holiday is a special time to reflect on gratitude. Here’s a few things I am deeply grateful for:

  • Your continued support.
  • Continuing to play bedside vigils at a local hospital.
  • Sharing the special message of music, hope and healing at numerous healthcare conferences throughout the year.
  • Sharing my music with thousands via this website and in retail stores.
  • Having an opportunity to be with my family at this special time.

Have a lovely Thanksgiving!
