An Afternoon of Peace and Gratitude

I recently had an opportunity to perform in my mom’s hometown … population 1,246! I performed on a Sunday afternoon and 80 people showed up, including several family members. I guess it was big news for a harpist to be in the community!

It was nerve-wracking to speak and play in front of family/people I know. (It is much easier to perform in front of total strangers.) Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time together … both family and the members from the community told me they enjoyed the afternoon. Whew! It is delightful to bring peace and calm to small, rural communities.

Healing Harp Concerts

For the past couple of years, I’ve been doing Healing Harp Concerts. These events are slightly different than an educational session.

During a Healing Harp Concert, I play a lot of music, share some stories and readings … the focus is on individuals’ healing and using live vibrations to “fill the wells” of those attending. When they are evening concerts, I end with lullabies … a lovely way to sleep!

Some interesting things have happened:

  • One woman said, “I came here with a splitting headache and shortly after you started playing, the pounding in my head went away.”
  • A woman with an autistic son said, “Usually my son is moving constantly. This is one of the few times I’ve seen him completely chill and move into peace and calm.”
  • A man came up to me afterwards and said, “I put all of the harp notes in my sore ankle and it feels better now!”

The next Healing Harp Concert will be in Yankton, SD on Sept. 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Riverfront Event Center (121 West Third St.). Come join us!

April Speaking Engagements

A great joy for me is to speak and play the harp. And this month, I am honored to connect with three different groups:

Parkinson’s is “near and dear” to my heart – I lost an Uncle to Parkinson’s and my beloved Dad is currently journeying with it. Click here if you’d like more information about my presentation on this topic.

Do you need an in-service for your staff or a Healing Harp Concert at your location/conference? I love to share my message and music with groups. At each presentation, I bring:

  • my harp.
  • poignant moments, practical tips and peace.
  • new ideas about using therapeutic music with intention.
  • an inspirational message and immediate application.

If you are interested in having me conduct a presentation at your location, I welcome these opportunities. Click here for more information. I look forward to working together!

Memorable Presentations

I am honored to have the opportunity to speak and play all over the country. These are some of the many 2011 highlights:

I still have some availability in 2012 … I would be happy to present/play at your special event and I look forward to working together!

Upcoming Healing Harp Concert

I’ve had the opportunity to speak and play at the Mayo Clinic numerous times. They host many national conferences each year and to be included on their speaking roster is always an honor at this world-class facility in my “back yard.”

Befriending some of the Mayo staff has also been very fun and mutually rewarding. From these relationships, I was introduced to Lisa Van Getson, the owner of Hermitage Farm in Rochester, MN. She hosts all kinds of unique and interesting programming at her retreat center. I’ll be conducting a Healing Harp Concert on April 19 from 7-9 p.m.  The community is invited; contact Lisa at 507-281-2791 for more information.
